Who May Receive the Anointing of the Sick

The sacrament is available for:

• Those suffering from a serious illness or injury
• The elderly, especially if frailty is increasing
• Anyone preparing for major surgery
• Those nearing the end of life

It may be received more than once, especially if health worsens or a new illness arises.
