Funerals
Compassionate Caring in the Catholic Tradition
The St. Brigid Bereavement Ministry has compiled a series of bulletin articles covering topics related to a peace-filled journey home to God. The fifth installment was added September 22, 2026. Those articles are available here…
When you have experienced a death in your family and when a loved one dies, the task of making arrangements for the Funeral Mass can seem overwhelming. We at St. Brigid Parish are here to walk with you in your time of need. We have a compassionate Ministry of Bereavement that will assist you at this time.
We typically only deal with funeral homes, but sometimes a family calls to schedule a funeral.
Funerals are typically held at 10:00/11:00 AM on Monday-Saturday. We do offer a 1-hour visitation prior to Mass as long as there is a not a scheduled visitation the night prior to the funeral.
Once your funeral director of choice has notified our church office of a death and a funeral request and a time for the Mass is set, one of our Bereavement Ministers will contact you and set a time to meet with you to plan the readings and music for the Mass of Christian Burial.
Funeral fee is $550 and is paid on the day of the funeral or before.

Bereavement Ministry - Is God Calling You?
The Church has always made the care of the grieving a priority in her ministry, beginning with Jesus himself grieving with the family the death of Lazarus and
the reference in the Beatitudes “Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
The mission of St Brigid’s Bereavement Ministry is to reach out in love and comfort as Jesus did. The volunteers bring a caring presence and hope to the bereaved so that those who are mourning the death of a loved one may know the comfort of God. That no member of our parish grieves alone,
but each is sustained by trained parish volunteers.

Choose one song from each category. You can click on the song title to hear a short clip of the music. Every one of us who is Catholic should keep a card in our wallets or purse that says, “I am Catholic. In the event of an accident or serious illness, please call a Roman Catholic Priest.” You can get one of these cards at a Catholic bookstore or other religious organizations. (I keep one in my wallet and update the information frequently).
Having a plan in advance is an act of kindness and generosity and a true and lasting gift to loved ones left behind. Preplanning your funeral Mass and documenting your wishes beforehand is available here.
