St. Brigid Cares
Serving Our Community
We Need Your Help
“The poor are our brothers and sisters ... people in the world who need love, who need care, who have to be wanted.” Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
St. Brigid parish has two ministries which are here to help parishioners and neighbors when life has burdened them with a struggle they cannot manage on their own. Helping Hands at Our Lady of Humility and the Good Samaritan Fund at St. Patrick provide financial assistance and/or refer callers to community resources for various needs for which a caller may be requesting help.
These two ministries are dependent on the generosity of you our parishioners to sustain the ability to be a vital lifeline to those who have reached out for help. Asking for assistance is a humbling and difficult interaction. Both groups very much want to meet the needs of those who had the courage to seek help.
Imagine not knowing how you will put gas in your car to get to your job, pay the water bill, gas bill or electric bill to be able to see in your home, pay the rent to have a place to call home, to pay for car repairs or car insurance so you can legally drive your car. These are just some of the situations that callers encounter for a variety of reasons. Callers’ needs are verified to ensure that all monies are being used appropriately. While these ministries serve without judgment, they also serve with conscientious oversight and being good stewards of the monies that have been donated by YOU.
Our Lady of Humility and St. Patrick Church have designated collection envelopes as well as through on-line giving at GiveCentral. Our Lady of Humility also has A Christmas Angel Tree project where parishioners can donate to this very special, truly life-changing ministry.
All donations of any amount, large or small, are welcomed, needed and appreciated.
